With help from our beautiful designs and bespoke offering, this luxury care home has been furnished to the highest standard
The riverside village of Shepperton is known around the world for the famous film studios that bear its name. Now there’s a brand new blockbuster location taking centre stage in the area; The Burlington by Boutique Care Homes. Designed to offer a truly luxurious environment to its residents – Working alongside Bernard Interiors our superb in-house design team created a truly spectacular project for Boutique Care Homes. This Surrey care home opened in January 2019, offering services by an outstanding team and staffed by an experienced and professional care team within a comfortable yet chic setting.
Offering an unparalleled quality of care and design, the aim of The Burlington is to allow residents to live as independently as possible in a luxury environment intended to bring the outside in and showcase the historic local connections to the film industry. Offering an elevated quality of life for all residents, whether they are living with dementia, complex medical conditions or simply require support with day-to-day living. The Burlington by Boutique Care Homes was furnished to the highest standards by us here at YTM Furniture, and as you can see the results of the project speak for themselves.
In order to make their vision a reality, the team behind The Burlington turned to YTM Furniture as their contract furniture provider. Our dedication and reputation of producing the highest standard of furniture manufacture means that we not only create pieces that are aesthetically pleasing and highly comfortable but also produced with longevity in mind. Our aim has always been to give care home residents a hotel-standard of luxury to enjoy, evidence of that is present here at The Burlington.
Each space in The Burlington has been meticulously designed to create the most inviting and functional interiors. Pictured above is the ‘Piano Bar’ located just off one of the main dining spaces. Check out the bespoke detailing on the bar, reflecting the ever-present botanical theme running throughout the entire care home. This subtle choice of intrigue contrasts seamlessly with the silver metallic orb light fittings and vintage ceramics that adorn the counter top. Pull up a stool a listen to some soft jazz whilst you take in the splendid atmosphere of the welcoming space.
A soft vernal feel is apparent in many of The Burlington’s spaces, no more so than the bedrooms us here at YTM Furniture supplied to Boutique Care Homes. They decided upon one of our newest and most popular ranges – Vienna. Seen here in a Mussel wood-grain with a contrast Grey Bardolino Oak top, as you can see they pair perfectly with the natural tones of cornflower blue, white and the hint of daffodil yellow on the bedside cabinet. The serenity of the bedrooms speaks volumes about the atmosphere that has been created by YTM Furniture and Boutique Care Homes. It’s the perfect place to relax and while away the hours in our Evangeline wing chair. This example of a bedside chair displays some of the bespoke options we offer with our furniture. The soft muted cornflower blue seat and chair back complements the country-style white and blue floral print on the outer, with calming white piping adding the final finishing touch.
Expressing his own excitement for the project, YTM National Contract Manager Paul McLean commented:
“We’re over-the-moon with the final outcome of The Burlington in Shepperton. Working alongside our superb in-house design team, we created a truly spectacular project for Boutique Care Homes. The first in their portfolio, it’s certainly setting the bar high for the company.”
“The whole space works together seamlessly. Whether you’re relaxing in the library piled high with books, or watching an old classic in the cinema room, the attention to detail and industry-leading products we have handcrafted for The Burlington shines through tenfold.”
Taking our ever popular Lyla chairs and pairing them with a modern glass and metallic coffee table creates a design perspective seldom seen in care homes in 2019. Accessorised impeccably with film posters and dusty pink accents, a nod to the local film studios nearby takes centre stage on the wall as seen above. James Bond sits alongside classic moments from the nostalgic Carry On films of the sixties and seventies. For residents this develops a sense of familiarity in their surroundings making them feel right at home.
Colour was another key consideration in The Burlington’s design, as seen here in this calming bedroom environment which demonstrates how a bolder colour such as purple works seamlessly against a lighter backdrop. By using organic colour choices rather than an exclusively neutral design, the bedroom becomes a more inviting and exciting environment while still making the most of the natural light pouring in. Our Vienna dressing table injects the space with all the charm of a country cottage, mixing off-white cabinets with a warm wood-grain contrast top.
A range of elegant dining areas act as some of The Burlington’s many attractive focal points, with plenty of space to encourage socialisation and communication between residents. Boutique Care Homes decided upon our Scott side chair to take centre stage as you step into the cleverly designed ground floor ‘Piano Bar’. Upholstered in an intriguing stripe fabric, with yellow and grey tones, you sit upon a soft cotton coloured chair to relax and take in the inviting atmosphere.
