First Impressions Really Do Last May 2006 The bespoke reception counter pictured above at Brooklands Hotel in Barnsley was designed by Andy Davies, Design Director at YTM Furniture. Designed to incorporate a structural column, the reception counter was made out of a mixture of cherry veneer and solid wood. The materials were curved and tiered to produce the smooth contours to match the buildings own shape and topped with Absoluto black granite to create a sleek finish. Design work included the tiered plastered canopy. Attention to detail behind the smooth contours of the reception counter incorporated the needs of a busy workstation without compromising on the innovative design.
